About this site
BuildConscious is a love letter from me — a seasoned project manager with a passion for great service — to you, dear homeowner.
Homebuilding and remodeling are complex. As a homeowner, you’re responsible for hiring an architect, validating a design, obtaining a building permit, engaging a builder, choosing materials, and more. The specialists you’ll need along the way — architects, engineers, builders, tradespeople, vendors and more — are eager to do their individual part. But how do you direct a team of specialists when you don’t understand the process as a whole?
This paradox is the root of the most fundamental misunderstandings — and stress — between clients and their homebuilding team. Without an experienced guide, you’re thrown into the deep end of a process you’re encountering for the first time, trying desperately to tread the unknown, all while working a full-time job, being a parent, and more.
BuildConscious is a love letter from me — a seasoned project manager with a passion for great service — to you, dear homeowner. It’s the guide I wish every homeowner had from the moment they started daydreaming to the day they move into their new space. No matter where you are in the process, I’m confident that you’ll find something useful here. And even if your project is already done, perhaps you’ll pass along some wisdom to one of your friends and save them the trouble.
Thanks for reading, and happy building!
About Me
My name is Justin Reinhart. I'm an independent custom homebuilding project manager based in California. I love working with homeowners to build beautiful spaces they love coming home to — and help them have a great experience along the way.
When you’re trying to build a home among full-time work, parenthood and everything else, it’s overwhelming — and costly — to embark upon a complex project without the right tools. My goal for this site is to give homeowners the tools they didn’t know they needed so they can proceed with confidence, save time and money, and find joy in the process.
Commitment
Design and construction involve a variety of materials, products and finishes that come from an array of different vendors. While this site may at times discuss such items and vendors, and may occasionally mention specific brand names or stores, this site will never accept sponsorships or any other form of compensation to feature a product or vendor.
